Macy's Believe 2009 + Gift Card Giveaway (CLOSED)

Macy's Believe Bus
This holiday season, Macy’s BELIEVE campaign builds on the great success of last year’s holiday effort to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Macy’s is adding to the spirit of “Believe” with a national Santa Tour, an honorary National Believe Day, a “Yes, Virginia” animated special, and a new TV commercial featuring Queen Latifah.

The nostalgic holiday campaign was inspired by the New York Sun’s famous “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” editorial from 1897 and includes letter-writing “Believe Stations” in Macy’s stores across the country. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $1 million.

Macy's Believe Letters to SantaNational Believe Day / “Yes, Virginia” Animated Special – On Friday, December 11th, Macy’s will celebrate the first National Believe Day to recognize and reward acts of kindness and generosity from coast to coast. Also that day, CBS will premiere a new original animated special called, “Yes, Virginia.” on Friday, December 11, at 8 p.m. ET.

Macy's is also hosting a contest - tell them why you believe and you could win a VIP trip to the 2010 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

I love Macy's! I always think of Macy's around Christmas, especially since one of my fav movies is Miracle on 34th Street - you know that line "If Macy's ain't got any, no body's got any!" always makes me laugh ;)

One of our traditions is to bake Christmas cookies, trim the tree, listen to holiday music non-stop, holiday shop at our favorite stores, and also give things that we no longer want or need to local shelters that need extra help around the holidays. Last year we gave bags full of good clothes and toys, hopefully this year we can do the same.

Thanks!

Our tradition started when I was a little girl. We were allowed to open just one gift on Christmas Eve. That gift was always some new PJs to wear that night and for Christmas morning. I carried that tradition on to my children. My adult daughter has now carried it on to my granddaughters. And my young daughters always look forward to it too. 3 generations later we carry on the cuddly/cozy tradition.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is the German cookies that my grandmother used to bake and send to us. Sadly, she is gone. I'm trying to keep the tradition living, but have only figured out 1 recipe, and just don't have the time that it takes. But, the memories are still great. I also go to Trader Joe's and get Lepkuchen - she would send those as well. Yum!
