For the chocolate lover who likes to expand their horizons, there is a new cookbook to consider when making your gift list. Chocolate: A Love Story: 65 Chocolate Dessert Recipes from Max Brenner's Private Collection is unlike any cookbook in my collection. The presentation is as creative as the recipes with bold artwork throughout. Who would settle for Black Forest Cake when they could have "Spy-Thriller chocolate Black Forest Cake covered with Alpine whipped cream and cherry, the German double agent on top"?? "Enticing sugar churros dipped in spicy chocolate and chili pepper flamenco sauce"...more seductive than those romance novels you pretend you don't read, no?I'm hardly a gourmet chef, and I admit that I was slightly intimidated when I first cracked the cover of this book. At closer look, the instructions are clear and thorough and I feel confident enough to give them a go. Now to invite some company over so I can try some of these recipes out. I fear my husband wouldn't appreciate these chocolate works of art, as he's just not that into chocolate. (I know - and I married him anyway! That is true love...)
Chocolate: A Love Story is available now in bookstores, the cover price is $29.99. (current price at Amazon.com is $19.79)
Complimentary review copy of this book was provided by Hachette Book Group. The opinions expressed are my own.

What! Your hubby is not that "in" to chocolate?! Hard to believe, but I know there are a few "freaks" like him out there. (Just teasing.) :)
I would've been scared too!
