Bellybar Review and Giveaway

When I'm home alone with the kids, days can get pretty hectic. I'm constantly moving from one task to the next - feeding, changing, dressing, cleaning. I'll be the first to admit that I don't always take the time to prepare healthy meals and snacks for myself. Sometimes I forget to eat completely! I'm still nursing the twins at 9 months and I know I have to do a better job of making sure that I'm getting the nutrition I need. I'm trying to keep plenty of healthy snacks around that I can grab on the go.

I was recently introduced to Bellybar, a line of all-natural food and beverage products designed to meet the nutritional needs of women before, during and after pregnancy. They offered to send me some samples to try out, and I happily obliged. Bellybar offers bars, chews and shakes in a variety of flavors. All contain essential prenatal nutrients such as iron, folic acid, calcium, protein and omega-3 DHA.

The Bellybar comes in four flavors: Mellow Oat, Baby Needs Chocolate, Berry Nutty Cravings and Burstin' Chocolate. My favorites were the Burstin' Chocolate, which has a touch of orange flavor and Berry Nutty Cravings. These are perfect to throw in your purse to enjoy when you're out and about.

Bellybar chews come in two flavors, Citrus on Board and Chocolate Cuddles. I loved the Citrus chews, they tasted like fruity candy. The Chocolate chews didn't rate quite as high with me, they had more of a vitamin taste, though it didn't stop me from eating them.

Bellybar shakes also come in two varieties called Due for Chocolate and Vanilla Dreams. I tried the Due for Chocolate shake and it was quite good, creamy and chocolatey. I think it would be a great late afternoon pick me up.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bellybar products for anyone trying to conceive, pregnant or nursing. One word of caution - keep an eye on your husband or kids who might try to steal them when you aren't looking. Are you willing to share?
